Fox River Bait & Tackle is a small bait shop located on the shores of the Fox River. We have been proudly serving the Lake Winnebago area for over 20 years. We specialize in fishing, fishing tackle, ice fishing equipment, and live bait sales for the Lake Winnebago system during both the open water and ice fishing seasons. We also provide ice auger sales and service.
Our friendly and professional staff provides fast, reliable service and advice to all. We are conveniently located in Oshkosh, just a few miles from Hwy 41, on the Fox River. We have plenty of public shoreline fishing, bridges, and parks; as well as a large boat launching facility with ample parking. We also have a convenient outdoor bait vending machine for those after hour needs.
The Lake Winnebago system is a world class fishery which plays host to a multitude of different species. From a limit of eaters, to a trophy class fish, Lake Winnebago offers it all. Walleye over 10 lbs and pike over 40 inches are not out of the question. Also common for the system are a great number of perch and bluegills, both of which also reach a good size status. One of the Fox River's most common species around Oshkosh is the whitebass. They grow to good size and are very fun to catch.
